Welcome to the Wonderful World of Third Grade! It is a time for cursive writing, a time for multiplication and division, a time to explore creative thinking, a time to learn keyboarding, transition into being an independent reader, a variety of social studies and science themes, and so much more. Third graders bring a love of life to school and no day is ever the same. These are just a few of the things I love about teaching third grade. |

My name is Sue Buysse and education is my passion.
After graduating from Mankato State University in 1989, I spent a year substitute teaching here on the prairie. My first year teaching in Minneota was in kindergarten and the ECFE area. The next year I began teaching third grade and have enjoyed it since. This is my seventeenth year teaching third grade. In 1998 I received my Master's in Education from Southwest State University. I coached volleyball at a variety of levels for five years and still enjoy the sport.
Teaching and learning in a small-school setting has so many perks. Not only do I get to know my students in the classroom, but I also get to interact with their brothers/sisters, and families outside of school. As I have watched my former students mature, get a well-rounded education and extra-curricular experience then graduate from MHS, it is fun keep track of what path of life they follow. What better job could anyone ask for! Thank you for the opportunity to teach at Minneota Elementary School and live up to our school's vision
“Success for All Learners”.
