Hello!  I am John Voit, Instrumental Music Instructor at Minneota Public Schools.  I have been teaching in Minneota since August of 1991.  My teaching duties include:  Senior High Concert Band, Jazz Band and Pep Band, Junior High Concert Band and Jazz Band, Sixth Grade Band and Fifth Grade Band.  I give weekly lessons to all band students in grades 5-8.  I also direct the orchestra for the High School Musicals.

My home town is Mahnomen, MN.  I graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1986.  I then attended the University of Minnesota-Morris.  I graduated from UMM in June of 1991 with BA degrees in Music Education and Elementary Education.

In August of 1994, I was united in marriage with Stacey Frank.  Stacey and I have two children:  Elizabeth, a nine-year-old fourth grader at Minneota Elementary, and Joseph, a very active five-year-old kindergartener.  We currently live in Ghent, MN.

In my "spare" time, I direct the Route 68 Big Band, a community jazz band based in Minneota.  I play tuba in various ensembles, including the Southwest Minnesota Orchestra, Marshall Municipal Band and the SMSU Community Band.  I also get involved with various community theater productions in Marshall and the Lake Benton Opera House.
