Athletics

There are opportunities for students to be involved in a variety of athletic events at MHS.  Everyone is welcomed to participate in one of the following athletic activities.

Participation Fees
 

July 2, 2007

Starting this fall, the Minneota Schools will start charging an activity fee for many of the extra-curricular activities that your child may participate in.  This activity fee will help cover the cost of the numerous activities that we have in our school. 

Below there is explanation of the fees, reimbursements, and activities that will be charged the fee..  You will notice that Junior High students (grades 7-8) will be charged $40.00 per activity and Senior High students (grades 9-12) will be charged $50.00 per activity.  There is also an individual cap of $120.00 for a Junior High student and $150.00 for a Senior High student.  Finally, there is also a family cap of $300.00.

All fees should be paid at the high school office.

Participation Fees

All athletes in grades 9-12 must pay a $50.00 participation fee per activity before they will be allowed to participate in any contests.  The fee must be paid before the first scheduled contest.  Athletes in grades 7 and 8 must pay a $40.00 participation fee per activity before they will be allowed to participate in any contests.  If a student/athlete cannot pay the participation fee, arrangements must be made with the athletic director and district office.  There will be a cap of $120.00 for a student in grades 7 and 8.  There will be a cap of $150.00 for a student in grades 9-12.  The family cap is $300.00.

Reimbursements

If an athlete has paid their participation fee and then decides to quit the activity during the two week pre-season practice time, they will be reimbursed 100% of the participation fee.  If the athlete decides to quit the activity during the first two weeks of contests, they will be reimbursed 50% of the participation fee.  Reimbursements will not be made after the first two weeks of contests.

Forms

All mandatory forms must be turned in by the first scheduled contest.  If the forms are not turned in by the first contest, the student will not participate.

Rental Fees

*Band Instruments        $40.00
*Gym Rental                $15.00/hour
*Kitchen                      $25.00/hour
