Forensic Science
Objectives for the Course: Students will understand how the
scientific method plays into the role of a forensic scientist. Students
will demonstrate how to analyze and collect evidence at a crime scene.
Students will accurately document a crime scene. Students will understand
some of the various techniques for scientifically analyzing different types of
evidence so they may be used in a court of law.

Human Anatomy
This class will expand upon the topics of basic biology by studying the
anatomy, physiology and genetics if humans. The content rigor of this
course is that of a college prep course. Multi-text assignments, current
topics in newspapers and magazines, video lab reports and research both in the
areas of current issues and the history of science will be used for this class.
The "History of Science" standard will be met in the course content. The
course covers material necessary for all health and medicine fields.

College Psychology
This
course is the study of what psychologists have learned about why people do what
they do. Students will meet 3 days a week for discussion of assigned chapters
and testing.

Spanish I
Students will use a variety of activities,
games, and projects, to communicate and understand simple greetings,
expressions, and grammatical concepts. They will participate in cultural
listening situations, understand simple texts, handle courtesy requirements, and
interpret cultural situations. Students will also be able to communicate on a
variety of topics such as months, times, weather, travel, foods, and
celebrations
Culture is an integral part of language. Films, slides, records, games
and a student magazine are used as supplementary materials to acquaint the
student with the culture of Spain and Hispanic understanding of their own
language through study of a second language and that knowledge of second
language is becoming more and more of a necessary for many jobs.

American Sign Language I
Introduction to a basic understanding of a hearing loss and the
structure of American Sign language including the history and cultural aspects
of the Deaf Community. Basic Grammar is introduced in context, with an
emphasis on developing vocabulary, question and answer skills, and simple
sentences.

American Sign Language II
This Course is designed to improve conversational skills in ASl to a
functional level for expressive and receptive use. There is an emphasis on
vocabulary development and grammar usage. Introduction to the TTY and
other communication devices as well as continued history and cultural aspects of
the Deaf Community.

American Sign Language III
This course is a continuation of American Sign Language. It
expands the emphasis on ASL grammar, vocabulary development, and Deaf culture.
Dialogue, short stories. narratives, and short conversations, both receptive and
expressive, will be featured in the course.

Course Description: This is a continuation of American Sign
Language, Level 3, expanding the emphasis on ASL grammar, vocabulary
development, and Deaf Culture, Dialogue, short stories, narratives, idioms, and
short conversations, both receptive and expressive, will be featured through the
course.
