| Junior High Science
Seventh grade life science focuses on the study of living things and how they
interact with the world around them. Eighth grade earth science is a study
of the Earth and how the earth reacts with itself and the universe. Ninth Grade General Science
Ninth grade science is a two-part course. Half of the year will be spent
studying environmental science, which is the study of humans interacting with
the environment. The other half will be spent studying physical science,
covering the topics of force and motion, matter, chemistry, electricity,
magnetism, and energy. The Grad Standard addressed in this course is
Environmental Systems-High School, Physical Systems-Middle School.
Biology Biology is the study
of living things in the world around us and how they interact with each other
and with humans. This course will take a hands-on approach, utilizing lab
experiments, activities, and field trips. The Grad Standard addressed in
this course is Scientific Concepts and Applications: Concepts in Biology.
Chemistry Chemistry is the
study of the composition and behavior of matter and how it is a part of our
daily lives. This course will take a hands-on approach, utilizing lab
experiments and activities. The prerequisite for Chemistry is to pass
Integrated Math II with a "C" or better or consent of instructor and principal.
The Grad Standard addressed in this course is Scientific Concepts and
