I have been teaching at Minneota Public School since 1996.  This was my first teaching job, after I graduated from SMSU in Marshall.

I teach English as a Second Language K-12.  This is also commonly referred to as ESL, ELL, or LEP.  I help teach English to speakers of other languages, whose first language isn't English.  This is extremely rewarding.  I have had the opportunity to meet many truly amazing people, and at the same time learn a lot about my skills and strengths as a teacher.

I also teach Adult ESL in both Marshall and Minneota.  I have worked with a variety of cultures including Spanish, Somalian, Hmong, Korean, and Russian.   Each day I learn something new from my students.  I teach all levels of English to all age levels.  I have the best of both worlds.

My university education includes a K-6 elementary education license with a Spanish concentration, and a psychology major from SMSU, a K-12 ESL License from Hamline, and 2 classes short of my Masters from Hamline in English as a Second Language.
