Mrs. Amanda Crowley
I grew up in Dawson, MN and graduated from Dawson-Boyd High School in 2007. I attended Minnesota State University Moorhead where I majored in Elementary Education with an emphasis in 5-8 grade science. After earning my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2012, I began to work for the Moorhead Public School district as a substitute teacher for one year.
However, after living in Fargo for five years and working in a large school district, my husband, John, and I realized how much we missed living in a small community and chose to move to his hometown of Canby, MN in 2013. I was then given the opportunity to join the Minneota Public School staff as a second grade teacher. After teaching second grade for two years, I was given the opportunity to teach third grade language arts and social studies in 2015. In 2019, I earned my Master's Degree in curriculum and instruction through Concordia University St. Paul. This year will be my second year teaching first grade, and I am looking forward to an exciting year with many firsts!!
My husband and I still live in Canby, MN with our son, Ian (4 1/2 yrs.), our youngest son, Rhett (18 months), and silver lab, Ruger (6). I enjoy spending time with my family, camping during the summer, making crafts and wood projects, scrapbooking, and reading books.
Over the past seven years, I have continued to enjoyed learning about new technology and teaching strategies as well as learning ways to create a love of learning in my students! I am eager to have another great year with a wonderful and supportive staff and terrific students and parents!
