Degrees and Certifications:

Heather Webskowski

As a native to the Mountain Lake, MN area, I attended and graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1994.  While in high school I participated in volleyball, was a member of the national honor society, student council, FLA (Future Leaders of America) and a member of the band and choir.  After high school, I attended Southwest Minnesota State University majoring in elementary education.
After attaining my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Southwest Minnesota State University in 1998, I received my first teaching job in Minneota.  For ten years I was the Title I Lead Teacher here at Minneota Elementary and then for eleven years I taught first grade.  I am excited to say this will be my second year teaching 3rd grade.  Working with the students and staff at Minneota Elementary is great.  The teachers are truly amazing and caring people and our students are very talented in many ways.  Minneota Elementary provides many great opportunities for our students to achieve success both in and out of the classroom.  I love being a teacher because I really enjoy the students and want to provide an environment where every student is successful!

After teaching for eight years, I was ready to go back to school and learn.  First, I earned my Reading Specialist's certification and then decided to continue learning.  Happily, in May of 2007, I graduated with an MS (Master of Science degree) in Reading Instruction.  My thesis work was on using read alouds in the classroom and how they impact student’s enjoyment of reading and book choice.

My husband, Ross, and I live in Marshall with our daughter, Dayton and our son, Zander.  We enjoy attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends.
