Hello, I am Chad Johnston.  I have been teaching Secondary Health and Physical Education in Minneota for 23 years.  I enjoy the opportunity to influence students to try to make healthy choices that will have a positive influence on their wellnes for the rest of their lives.

Originally from Flandreau, South Dakota, I graduated from Flandreau Public Schools in 1989.  I feel the positive influences and wonderful teachers that I had in high school were the driving force that led me into the education profession.  I attended Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall, MN to become a teacher and play football.  I graduated from SMSU (SSU) in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in K-12 Heatlh, Physical Education, and Coaching.

I was fortunate to get a job at Minneota right out of college.  I like the area so I felt it was a good fit for me.  The school district and city of Minneota have treated me very well over the years and I am happy to be part of this community.  I believe Minneota has alot of positive things going both in the classrooms and on the athletic fields.  I have been involved in sports all my life and truly enjoy the opportunity to influence students lives in a way outside of the classroom.  I am very fortunate to be surrounded by good people which contribute in all of the successes of our school both on and off the athletic fields.  It has always been said that if you surround yourself by good people, good things will happen.

In my free time I like to stay active.  I try to participate in all sports that my schedule and family life allows.  I enjoy spending time in the outdoors.  I love to hunt and fish and look forward to the time I get to spend doing these things with my sons.

My wife and I currently reside in Minneota with my three sons.  Nicolle is a Special Eduction Teacher in Minneota so we are fortunate to see each other alot and see our children in school.  My three sons are Easton (10 years), Gage (8 years), and Brooks (5 years).
