PSEO

What is PSEO?

The Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th, 11th and 12th grade students to earn college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college-level courses. With traditional PSEO, these courses are generally offered on the campus of the post-secondary institution; some courses are offered online.

Students interested in taking PSEO classes should reach out to Mrs. Werner, the school counselor. When meeting with Mrs. Werner, it's important for students to answer the following questions:

What career do I want when I am older?

What is the educational pathway to obtain that career?

What courses could I take now in high school to set me up for success in college?

Answers to these questions will help determine which option will be best for the student and their individual career choice.

Students are strongly encouraged to take the REACH courses to experience college level coursework and build their skills at MHS with our supports in place before taking off campus PSEO courses through a college. REACH courses include: Intro to Animal Science, Principles of Agronomy, Intro to Business, Basic Nutrition, General Inorganic Chemistry I and II, College Algebra, Intro to Probability & Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. Check out the REACH Program page, or contact the school counselor for more information.
