Hello Minneota Students, Families, and Viking Fans!
Welcome to a new school year and to my language arts classroom. This will be my 32nd year of teaching, and I am looking forward to working with my students in person again! As most of you know by now, I live with my husband on the family farm outside of Marshall, and we have five children and eleven grandchildren. As an English teacher, of course I LOVE to read, but I also love spending time with my family, exercising, and watching all types of sports.
My philosophy for learning is that each student is unique and important and learns through a variety of ways. One of my most important jobs as a teacher is helping my students to discover their strengths and working alongside of them to develop their full potential. I feel it is highly important that each student feels welcome in my room each and every day and enjoys coming to class.
This year I will be teaching the following courses: LA 11 and LA 12. I will work very hard to make these courses productive, positive and memorable learning experiences whether in the classroom or distance learning.
Again, I am so happy to have students back in school. We are going to have an awesome learning experience from beginning to end! If we do run into some bumps along the way, I am confident we will commuicate and work together to ensure success.
To be prepared, here is a list of important needs:
- Blue or black pens
- ThinkPads—charged and ready to go every day
- Cell Phones either on my charging station or hidden away
- A kind attitude
- A solid work ethic
“…and so the 2020 adventure begins, and
it will be amazing because YOU are a part of it!”
