Welcome to the Minneota Public School District's website. I know that this site will serve as a powerful communication tool for students, staff, parents, and the community. 2016-2017 is my ninth year in Minneota, and I am proud to serve as the Superintendent of Schools!
For the past two years, Minneota has been designated by the Minnesota Department of Education as a Reward School, meaning our Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA's) are in the top 15% of all schools in the State of Minnesota. We also provide top-notch opportunities in the fine arts, athletics, and non-Minnesota High School League activities; we are one of the smallest school districts in the state to offer robotics. Our student participation rate in after-school activities exceeds 80%.
Our school board has also made the commitment to keep the building and grounds up-to-date and modern. During the summer of 2016, a new entrance was built to help provide a safer way for people to enter the building. Also, new air handlers were installed to help provide better air quality throughout the building. Other areas renovated include a new concession stand, new bathrooms on the main floor, outside landscaping, new LED lights, new cabinets/sinks in the FACS room, and a new commons area to eat during events.
I am positive you will find our highly qualified staff friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help our students reach their goals. Honestly, I cannot think of a better place to have your child receive his/her education! If you should ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can call me at 507-872-6532. And remember, it's always a GREAT day to be a Minneota Viking!
